Beano pies and a strange mobile mannequin in the window.
Seems so long ago.
Did I imagine it?

My aunt used to take me there in the mid 60's.
Kids today get a MacDonalds.
No comparison.

Is that really it?
I didn't think it was on a corner, and there was a short,quite scary mannequin dressed as a chef in the window.
Again.Maybe the years have destroyed my memory.

Slightly OT but is the pie shop in Baker St the only home made type pie shop in Brighton, I love their pies far better than piglets.

I think this picture was taken up St James's Street but there was another shop that sold beano pies in Bakers Street around the London Road area. They were just as good. Went back a few years ago to the shop in Bakers Street and bought a beano pie, it was good but not how I remember them.

When Baker St opened l am sure they mentioned a connection with St James St.

Yes, that is 100% St James Street! The road leading away in the photograph is Chapel Street. Fast forward and where that guy is standing is now the entrance to the Co-op.

Me to. Just loved their pies, but then all the food was better than today with all the additives. Ugh!
