Beram Kayal will not be making his Albion debut against Arsenal.
The deal to sign the Israeli international midfielder from Celtic is still in process.
Medical and work permit clearance would have been required by noon today for Kayal, 26, to be available to face the Gunners at the Amex on Sunday.
Albion are relaxed about the time frame for completing the deal, with Danny Holla and Rohan Ince set to continue as a defensive midfield partnership against Arsenal.
Kayal will come into contention for the trip to Blackpool a week tomorrow.
