I've come back home.
My understanding is that punch will put in a duty manager. If you want cheep beer go this weekend as all stock must go! Its a real shame as Neal the boss has had his detractors bit is a good guy and serves great food. The building itself needs some money spent on it which he just didn't have.

Fuxxck me not another Co-op having a drink on Friday in Pub near Poets Corner doing my best to help keep them open. We should have a national week save our local pubs. Write to your MPs as it has been discussed in Parliament about closures of local and Village pubs. How many pubs miss the Albion not playing in Hove and the ones in Lewes are now doing well no thanks to Norman Baker who cost the Albion Millions. Thanks to the Tory and Labour Councillors who supported Falmer.

The Alibi in Hove to close.Won't be many proper pubs left soon.
peeps have lost the art of small talk. They'd rather look a they pads. Few people drink proper beer these days. Young people would rather drink disgusting sugary pop infused with alcohol. Young people think they're so important but they're idiots and I hate them. Well some to be fair.

Not sure the traditional pubs are relevant to modern day needs.
They survived initially in the dark ages up until the the 50/60 with people going straight from work and staying till bedtime as a place to meet and socialise.

These days not many people still do this as there are now many other forms of entertainment and as as importantly who could afford to do this now?

I'm surprised that so many pubs still do actually survive.

yes booze in pubs is too expensive for Mr Average Joe these days. A big factor I overlooked in my otherwise measured assessment.

We're really lucky that we have two pubs within a 5-10 min walk, The Flying FIsh in Denton and the Hampden Arms at South Heighton. Im amazed that they both survive given the size of the communities they serve the and fact theyre tucked a bit out of the way.

Other forms of entertainment, the pub is a church for ale and not a place for light hearted pleasure.Every time a pub closes society is that much poorer.

Nonsense, if by proper beer you mean cask ale, then ale sales are the highest they have ever been. Unless you are saying that 'young people' have not drunk any of it?

Same goes for Craft Beer, this especially is a popular with 'young people'.

Pubs like the Alibi are closing because of government legislation re: smoking and the ludicrous rentals and land prices prevalent in this country.

If you say so. You're obviously down with the kids. Obviously that popularity of proper beer isn't saving the pubs.

You might want to take a look at at my profile and see what my job is...

Also as you seem to be doubting me, here are some links One, two, three and four.

You also seem to have a real problem with young people, why is that? You do realise it makes you sound more than a bit stupid, right?
