following on from the paddy mccourt thread and the sheer amount of under utilised talent that he has, who else have we seen who have clearly had the talent but haven't used it...either at the albion or in their post-albion careers

the ones that sprung to mind in recent years:-

-leon knight
-kevin mcleod
-james tunnicliffe

over to you...

Jake Robinson showed early talent then didnt progress. The young keeper, name alludes me, played 1 game at Withdean and let in a howler then never played again for the first team.

Will Packham ?

Jake sadly, had great potential but it was never fulfilled

Thats him thanks. John Sullivan played for a few clubs.

Didn't he play in a cup game against Preston as the loan keeper we had was cup tied ?

we had two really good goalkeeping prospects at one point- John Sullivan and Richard Martin. It got to the point where we could only really keep one. We kept Sullivan and Martin actually joined Man City after his release. Both were really good prospects but neither of them have really achieved much

Being from stockport i watched tunnicliffe a few times last season, he was that bad he retired from football end of the season! Just didn't look interested! And if he can't perform in the conference north then God help him

Zamora post Albion has simply flitted from club to club. Where would anyone say he has established himself?

most successful at Fulham where he was one of their best players in their Europa League run... he also made his England debut at that time...bit harsh for this thread really, he's had a pretty decent career

Was that the game when he committed the howler, memory isnt what it was.

yes...he also had a game at the end of our Div 3 title year (we'd already won the title at that point) away to, I think, Halifax and played ok. The Preston game was the following season and yes, he made a howler. Don't think he played again

brian mckenna meant to be a star keeper and Kevin Mcgarigle a young centre half in mid 90s and what ever happen to Stuart Munday?

Jake Robinson is a good one...it really looked like we'd produced a absolute star and there were times that he showed real quality. However he was very inconsistant and incapable of physically imposing himself enough in games

another one is Seb Carole. When he first joined he was a real crowd pleaser. Quick, skillful and scored some great goals. Very disappointing career after us (including his other spells at Withdean)

I think both were signed by Whitehawk at some point but don't think they're still there,

Jake Robinson, still only 28, now plays for 'em too. Honestly thought he'd end up at a higher level than conference south..

Dean Cox was a very good player, who should have absolutely flourished under the Gus revolution, but his immature attitude meant he never got the chance. He sorted himself out and has had a pretty decent career at Orient, but he could have had years at Championship level with the Albion.
