ALBION fans queued for hours to get their hands on a ticket for an FA Cup match against Arsenal.
Season ticket holders turned out in their droves at the American Express Community Stadium yesterday to book their place to watch the clash on Sunday, January 25, which kicks off at 4pm.
In excess of 10,000 tickets were processed by the end of the day – a record day’s business for the ticket office.
Despite excitement for the match some fans were frustrated at the waiting times for tickets.
Nick Fears, 68, an Albion fan of 50 years, claimed hundreds of fans were waiting in cold and windy conditions at the stadium and for some time just one ticket kiosk was open.
He said: “They must have known there was going to be a load of people coming down – it’s Arsenal.”
The club said extra booths were opened and more staff brought in to cope with demand and the queue was moved into the shop away from the elements.
Jenny Gower, head of supporter services, said: "We will process all season-ticket holders, but of course many fans are very keen to get their tickets as soon as possible which means yesterday was a very busy day.
"Staff are working as hard as they possibly can to make waiting times as short as possible, so we ask fans to please be patient.”
He said buying online was the quickest option.
Season ticket holders only can buy tickets until Tuesday at 9am when they go on sale to all. Visit seagulls.co.uk
