Albion's forgotten man Kemy Agustien needs to be fit before he can be considered for selection.
That is the message from Chris Hughton as the Seagulls' boss considers his central midfield options for his first Championship game in charge at Charlton tomorrow.
Dale Stephens, signed from Charlton a year ago, has been sidelined since April by an ankle injury and Andrew Crofts is out for the season after suffering a serious knee injury for a second time in October.
Enigmatic Dutchman Agustien, meanwhile, has not played for the first team since August and has made only ten starts since arriving from Swansea 18 months ago.
Hughton said: "First and foremost he needs to be fit and available. Stephens and Crofts are both big and vital players but we know Crofty is still going to be out for quite some time.
"Dale less so and I know him as a player and what he can do, Kemy as well. But he hasn't been fit and so hasn't been available for selection.
"He is a good player, an experienced player and he has played at a good level, but at the moment all the concentration has to be on players fit and available."
