Has anyone got a copy? Just seen that there is an article titled "Murray fits the bill for seagulls". Ironic considering it was his wage bill we weren't willing to meet in the first place.

Is there anything in this article, do the argus know anything or is it just wishful thinking?

All a bit, bolted, horses and stable doors isn't it?

Also good to see the Deju vu Argus article of the last 20 years about how difficult it is to find good strikers in a transfer window.

I still find it quite incredible that we let Murray go because of a disagreement on wages. Probably the worst and most costly decision the club has made in the past 50 years.

If we had hung on to him there is a good chance we would have achieved promotion to the Premier League.

Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.

Barber's quote:

"The best clubs don't release their best players, and the clubs that are struggling certainly don't release their best players"

Where do we fit into that then in his mind I wonder?

Yep.

However if he was still here on say £10,000 a week the last four years would have cost us £2m in wages. Get him back now for a million and we are a million up on the deal!!

(Just trying to make it seem OK!)

Premier League Ready clubs work differently obviously. The only crumb of comfort I get from that quote is that we won't be selling Dunk in the January window.

You seem to be forgetting the 120 million we would have got for being promoted, and I'm bloody sure we would have been with Murray leading the line.

Although selling but loaning back to the end of the season (like Palace did with Zaha) might be very possible.

The same guy that couldn't be bothered to chase back when he lost the ball at Withdean or ASKED to leave 3 summers running after we had given him a job. Horrible man

PB wasn't here then.

So we haven't sold our best players during Barber's tenure? I think the "couldn't make it up" comment was directed at what we have done with our best players since Poyet left and the comment Barber has apparently just made. I may be wrong though

I'm assuming this is as joke? You are aware that he was playing through a HERNIA in that Leeds game, and the transfer requests were to do with trying to save his marriage.

Yeah, what an awful bloke, trying to play through intense pain, and having big personal problems that affected his work.

Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.

And yet the stupid manager responsible (personally I am told) was the one who got us to the brink of the promised land (before, literally, shitting it) :lolol:

So we haven't sold our best players during Barber's tenure?

All clubs are selling clubs if the price is right. Plus, selling players for a fair price is different to allowing a good (if temperamental) striker to leave on a free.
