Tribute to "real Albion hero" who leaves legacy as campaigner against homophobia [The Argu

A beloved*Albion fan who helped to tackle homophobia in football and helped lead the Falmer For All campaign has died.
Sarah Watts, 49, passed away earlier today and she is remembered for her tireless work with the Brighton and Hove Albion Supporters’ Club (BHASC) and the Gay Football Supporters’ Network *to get the law regarding homophobia in football changed.
The recognisable Ms Watts was a familiar face at the American Express Community Stadium*and was instrumental in getting the ground*constructed in*her efforts with the Falmer For All campaign.
Liz Costa, vice chair of the BHASC, said: “Her lasting legacy will be the change in law as the result of the campaign and a great manner of people are grateful she helped secure our beautiful ground.
“You could not miss her at the stadium and she will be missed by a hell of a lot of people.”
She added while Sarah “did not suffer any fools” and she was “very gentle” and died knowing the Seagulls had won an FA cup game which “made her smile”.
Fans on The North Stand online forum remembered her as a "real Albion hero".*
Ms Watts had been involved with the supporters club since 1983.
She died of a brain tumour.*
