On Friday 20th March reigning under-20 rugby world champions England will face France in their Six Nations match at the American Express Community Stadium with Hospitality packages now available for 1901 members.
The 7:55pm evening kick-off will be the first ever rugby union game to be played at the Amex, ahead of it hosting two matches (South Africa v Japan and Samoa v USA) at Rugby World Cup 2015.

Hope they don't make a mess of the pitch

At least we're away the next day. Many years ago I can remember we had a Saturday trip to Halifax booked. I turned on the telly on the Friday night to see the Halifax Rugby League team tearing the pitch to shreds in the pouring rain. The game was off by the time we reached Peterborough

Won't make up for missing the World Cup games, especially as I know people who got tickets who have never been to a rugby game in their lives and regard it as "egg chasing crap", but I'll try and get along to the game.

You can have my WC tickets, you'll have to pay face value though (1901):

South Africa v Asia 1 Sep-19 - £475 per person
Samoa v USA Sep-20 - £295 per person

We went to Grantham Town V Hastings that day instead. It was also the day of the National as I recall staying in the bar and watching it and not bothering with much of the second half. Got a feeling that was the year that the result didn't stand due to the false start(s).

You might well have been on the same train as that's where most of our group ended up. I went back to town and drank with Pete Canning - hence I can't remember the National!

Yeah pretty sure I was with his lordship that day. Although to be fair most trips seem to mould into one distant alcoholic fuzzy haze.

I do just about remember the chairman of Grantham being made up that we'd gone there for the day and gave us a lift back to the train station. Cracking little club, still keep an eye on their results now.

I've got myself a ticket. Will I be allowed to have a beer in my seat? As a world cup warm up, I've assumed I will be able to...?

Me and Mrs Hamilton will be there, and we'd better have beer at the seat. No reason why not. In fact Mr and Mrs Hamilton Snr are coming along as well. Looking forward to it.

You were lucky. My daughter and I found out when we saw the rugby posts still in the ground as we drove down the hill to the Shay!! :tantrum:

Think the upper tiers are closed, but pretty much full apart from that. So whatever that number is.

The pitch should fine. Swansea City and Reading successfully share the grounds with professional Rugby outfits. One game won't hurt.

It's all down to the type of grass stadiums have. I'm guessing the AMEX has a pretty modern patch.

I really want to go Friday. Some of our Quins boys are playing, including James Chisholm who is a Sussex lad. Last I heard there were no tickets left.
