Jeffrey Monakana could go back to Aberdeen this month, or be sent out on loan again elsewhere, after rejoining Albion.
The winger has returned to the Amex for the time being on the expiry of his six-month loan spell with the Scottish Premier League leaders.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes said: "Having spoken to the Chief Executive at Brighton (Paul Barber) they have taken the decision to recall Jeff in order to assess his situation further.
"The possibly of him going out on loan again hasn't been ruled out so there may an option for him to rejoin us at the end of the month."
Monakana has been at Pittodrie since July but has not started a game.
The 21-year-old former Arsenal youth made ten substitute appearances during his time North of the border.
Albion bought Monakana from Preston North End a year ago for an undisclosed fee on a development contract which expires this summer.
He has not made a senior appearance for the Seagulls and was restricted to four sub outings during a two-month loan stint at Crawley at the end of last season.
