Apart from the incredible infrastructure TB has delivered to the club (the Amex and training/academy facility), I think the club lost its way in recent seasons - Burke, transfer mistakes, tedious Poyet in publically angling for his departure, boring football, a lack of pace and strikers, and a disconnect with the fanbase.

But I'm elated with the recent changes of managerial personnel & structure. Most fans knew what was needed, months/years before TB & PB finally acted. Listening to Radio Sussex pre-match today, with their interviews and sound clips of the goals at Craven Cottage & an army of Albion fans roaring there, it brought the goosebumps back. I've rarely felt that since the say the Poyet Withdean period and then some early Amex matches including wins over Doncaster and Newcastle.

But that feeling is back, it seems the Board will truly back Hughton in this and future transfer windows, and this time those scouting the players will mostly get it right. Happy times are back. :)

We definitely have a fantastic opportunity to rebuild the momentum that we lost with Poyet.

For me, there's two more problems that we need to address (apart from from staying up!)

1) The dire atmosphere at the Amex
2) Paul Barber

Paul Barber is doing the job bloom employed him to do.

Barber is employed by Bloom. I don't like the spin he puts on any and everything, but he's doing what's required.

Agree about the atmosphere, but winning games, and playing decent football always helps.

This. Waiting for his resignation probably saved 1-2 million. The gambler has probably won again.

This assumes that no money was paid out when he resigned.

Waiting for his resignation could have cost 100s or 1000s of ST holders not to renew which could cost more in the long run.

Burke and Hyypia were employed by Bloom too.

Considering what he's done to this club since he arrived, I wouldn't say he has "done what is required" - unless it is required for us to have more than 10,000 empty seats!

We'll see - the way he runs the club should be heavily scrutinised from now on if he is to stay.

Although we may have 10,000 empty seats we don't have 10,000 unpaid empty seats.

You may not like him, but Barber has performed outstandingly in his role. If he hadn't he wouldn't be in his position now.

Bloody hell! - All a bit OTT isn't it? We've won two on the bounce (well, one win and a lucky mugging if we're honest). I'm now confident we'll avoid the drop. Not world beaters yet!

10,000 less people buying pies, pints, merchandise and cheering on the team. When he arrived we were practically filling the 30,000 and had a season ticket waiting list.

Alienating the fans, commercialising the club, destroying the atmosphere. The bloke certainly is doing an outstanding job... outstandingly awful.

Not every single person, buys pies and merchandise, but I understand what you are saying.

People that purchase seats and fail to attend, surely do so through various reasons but I would guess mainly what tripe has been served up on the pitch, especially this season.

His job is to commercialise the club, thats modern football (sadly). He's had to work under FFP constraints.

Not saying that he's perfect, but Tony who has made hundreds of millions of pounds if not more in his business career trusts the bloke, so he is obviously doing his job as required.

Our luck has changed these last few games. That is the nature of football. Nathan wins one and draws one with a last minute goal and the majority want him as manager. Chris wins won and now the majority would want him as manager. Is there anything more knee jerk than a football chat site ?

I agree and believe that the two are linked. Barber has certainly not helped and in my opinion has caused disconnect between fans and the club.
