Albion have been boosted by the return to fitness of captain Gordon Greer for Chris Hughton's first game in charge at Brentford in the FA Cup tomorrow.
The experienced Scottish international centre-half played every minute of every Championship match until the end of November but has missed the last six games with a long-standing knee injury.
Hughton said: "It's a big plus, the fact that he is a mainstay of this team.
"He is the club captain and on top of that he is a very good player and another player back into the squad at a time when we have lost others (loans)."
The Seagulls also have England under-21s midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey back from illness for the third round trip to Griffin Park.
Forster-Caskey's stepfather Nicky played for both clubs.
Brentford's new signing from Glasgow Rangers, Scottish under-21s midfielder Lewis Macleod, is unavailable.
