Maybe Herr Tubthumpers "Not long now - 7 points clear" thread, actually refers to our position in relation to the relegation zone in May 2015 and not the end of Ed Millibands political career?

He's black as well apparently!?!?

Couldn't give a **** what colour his skin is or what his political views are. Lets judge the bloke on what he does on the field?

I thought Caroline Lucas was the only true Marxist left.

Hughton has always been one of my footballing heroes because he's kind of like a boring, old fashioned version of Russell Brand. To say my heart is in my mouth now he's here is something of an understatement, given his mixed success as a manager. But interesting times :)

Much though I would be pleased to have a Brian Clough type left wing manager the evidence hardly stacks-up that he is a moderate kind of bloke. As a mixed race person you would hardly expect him to be anything other than opposed to aparthied, but fair play to him for having principles.

This is all Hughton said about it...

'I did write [the column for Workers Revolutionary Party paper; the News Line] - but it's probably not as dramatic as it sounds. I've always had strong views on social issues such as hospitals - I think we should have a good health system - and the education system, too.
'I was a young player with Ireland at the time. These days, players can do as many interviews and columns as they want. Back in the day, it wasn't like that. Anyway, I'm sure I wrote about football and football issues. Nothing else.'

and a few years before

“This was as a very young man, they had a football column in the paper. It was my first venture into journalism and my last. It was for a short period of time and it was actually someone I knew who was associated with the paper,” he said.

“It was an opportunity at that stage and something different. It was quite some years ago shall we say but it’s true. I wasn’t politically involved with it, it was purely football. I was aware of what the paper was but the bigger interest for me was, as a young man, it was quite nice to have my own column. I don’t think many people read it though.

“It was nice at the time. Did I try to get Spurs to play in red? Something like that.”

So what, if we appointed a manager just for his sound political standpoint, we would have brought in DiCanio.

It was certainly an interesting Spurs dressing room - Tony Galvin was also involved - the WRP was the celebrity lefty group of the time, it seemed like half the acting profession were members headed by the likes of the Redgraves.

Damn..! of course what I meant to say was "the evidence hardly stacks-up that he IS’NT a moderate kind of bloke".

Nice one, the fella had only been in the job for about an hour when you posted. Well done for managing to shoehorn Brand into the post, i daresay with a little more time you could have managed a few more.

:lolol::lolol: Surely nothing like Chris

Fear not, maybe the Albion will still appoint Malky Mackay one day eh? :)

Chris also apparently received a citation from the United Nations for turning down big money offers to visit South Africa during the apartheid/80s.

I must be tired, I read that as CHRIST also apparently received a citation etc....

Perhaps it's worth mentioning, we should also leave religion out of everything.

Though for the record, Christ DIDN'T exist. Okay?
