Albion won't be rushed as they focus on getting right man as manager [The Argus]

Albion will not be railroaded into appointing their new manager.
The Seagulls are still working through a methodical selection process and caretaker Nathan Jones stays in charge at Fulham tonight.
The sacking of Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock on Saturday, together with mounting doubts over the future of Alan Irvine at West Brom, has sparked fears Albion could lose out on Chris Hughton or Tony Pulis to the Premier League.
But chairman Tony Bloom is still focused on making the right appointment, rather than a quick appointment, and The Argus understands the face-to-face interview process is not yet complete.
The new man will also be somebody the club feel is capable of dealing with both the short-term aim of staying in the Championship and the longer term goal of reaching the Premier League, not just a four-month fix.
The Argus website revealed yesterday that Albion have talked to former Palace and Stoke manager Pulis about the job.
They are also understood to have spoken to Hughton, who kept his options open when asked about the vacancies at The Amex and Selhurst Park on Sky Sports’ Goals On Sunday programme yesterday morning.
The 56-year-old former Norwich, Birmingham and Newcastle chief said: “On their own merits, they are both very good jobs.
“With Palace you have got a side that are in the Premier League and fared extremely well last season.
“They have had some difficult times, of course, of late, but they have showed some good form this season.
“Brighton have a wonderful structure and a wonderful stadium, new training facilities, and, of course, they are a side that have been very close to the play-offs in two previous seasons.
“They are both good jobs and I think any manager who is out of work at this particular moment would be interested.”
Hughton, as long as 20-1 with some bookmakers last week, was a warm 11-8 favourite with Football League sponsors SkyBet last night to become Sami Hyypia’s successor on the South Coast, with Pulis 4-1 second favourite and Jones 16-1.
Albion will climb out of the relegation zone if they win for the second time in 20 league games at Fulham in Jones’ second game in charge.
Millwall are three points above them after losing 2-0 at home to leaders Bournemouth yesterday and have a far inferior goal difference.
Wigan, above Albion on goal difference, and Leeds, who are four points better off, do not play until tomorrow night.
