At worst we can move another point from safety today, although you wouldn't fancy Millwall getting too much against rampant Bournemouth.

Nottm Forest v Birmingham 12:00
Blackburn v Middlesbrough 15:00
Blackpool v Rotherham 15:00
Cardiff v Watford 15:00
Huddersfield v Bolton 15:00
Millwall v Bournemouth 15:00
Reading v Norwich 15:00

Blackpool could do us a favour by avoiding defeat against Rotherham.

It's strange how clubs like Birmingham and Bolton, who were in and around us, now seem so far clear of us.

Re Birmingham and Bolton, despite Barbers programme notes vs Millwall, they changed their manager at the right time and benefited from the impetus, hopefully we will too, when we finally appoint someone.

Bolton and Birmingham may just be in the middle of a purple patch? Quite often see that initial surge then drop back off again

Yes, but easier when you are 'in the mix' than cast adrift.

Birmingham have taken the lead at Forest. That would put them level 10th with Forest and others.

The point being they changed their manager, so it is relevant

That is tenuous at best. Posting a league table from over a month ago shows nothing, other than Birmingham have picked up and rolled away. It doesn't have any relevance to us at this point.

You still do not get it, Paul barber a few weeks ago suggested a change in manager does not always mean you will improve. Birmingham stuck with lee Clarke they only just survived last season and struggled again this season, they changed manager and have not looked back, that's the relevance, maybe we would be better off if we had changed manager sooner

I agree, you can argue the same with Lennon at Bolton as well.

Blackpool and Leeds changed their manager sooner. Both are still crap. Huddersfield also binned a manager this season and haven't pulled up any trees since.

So I suspect the answer is that a manager change may assist in bringing about an upturn in fortunes, or it may not.

Hope this helps.

Or Lee Clark at Blackpo... oh.

What Blackpool in complete turmoil...... Oh dear not a great example Ninja..... Think Alex Ferguson may struggle with them at the moment

Huddersfield initially pulled clear Edna, the point is, you need that impetus to get back in the mix as per my previous post.

Blackpool are a bad example because they're poorly run, by an owner who appointed Paul Ince not all that long ago. They are in a bad place because of his systematic stupidity and ego (the owner, rather than Paul Ince!), and signing a load of tosh players with a week to go before the season kicks off. They are in the sort of turmoil that some Brighton "fans" would have you believe that we're in, behind the scenes. It's complete rubbish and the board backing their manager by not sacking him because the fans kicking and screaming was the right thing to do, in order to avoid ending up like Leeds and sacking their manager every time a fan is having a bad day and wants a little cry.

It remains to be seen how a new manager will affect us, but what nobody can argue is that Hyypia did a particularly poor job as manager.
