Just had a call from Scotland.

Our new manager is likely to be Ally. He was informed yesterday the job is his if wants to relocate. Money may be a sticking point though.

If the manager comes from Scoland its more likely to be Terry Butcher

God no. I had the misfortune of being a season ticket holder at Sydney FC when he was manager and he was awful. Think Sami might be a better choice and he was hopeless. If we're thinking Butcher (or McCoist) we may as well interview Jimmy Case & Jeff Wood too.

I think this may be up there with the least likely and most badly informed NSC posts of all time. Congratulations.

Ally is owed 750k in wages. Rangers do not have that money and are making it clear that he is being mercenary in submitting his notice knowing they cannot pay him off trying to put pressure on him saying he is ruining Rangers chance of survival.
Waving his present salary would give him a job with money, save Rangers from paying his pay off and more importantly not sour the great work he has done over the last few years with the fans.
Win win, and Ally is a good manager. Anyone managing to do what he has done with no money, immense pressure and still get results has what it takes to manage in the championship.

Well that would just be rubbish. He had the 2nd highest wage budget in Scotland and was struggling (comparatively) in the 2nd division, hardly a record to inspire.

Ally McLeod is still managing?

"We're on the march with Ally's army,
We're going to the Premiership
And we'll really shake 'em up when we win the FA Cup
Cos Brighton this year are a load of 5hit..."

All together now!

his only success as getting promoted from 2 incredibly poor divisions. sorry but he has no managerial pedigree at all

Even Rangers fans don't rate him the fella had taken millions out of the club over the years. He could manage for five years on no pay and still be up on the deal.

Ally doesn't manage Rangers he is a low level figurehead.

No money? They might have lost a couple of hundred million quid, but their budget will still have exceeded those of Montrose, Annan Athletic, East Stirling and Elgin Thistle etc by a quite embarrassing degree. That, and playing home games in front of 40,000 as opposed to their opponents' home gates of 400 meant that a trained chimpanzee could have got them their last two promotions.

He may well be a managerial genius, but I'm not convinced his record at Rangers is any true proof of it.
