Surely it is US that has made him into a bad player. Scored more than Ulloa last season in a relegated side. Suggestions he has 'found his level' in league 1 are bolllocks.

He scored well for Barnsley in the Championship ... good enough for us but never given a decent run, played out of position and no runners to support him

The "snobs" won't agree "Came from a relegated club and only cost £500K"

Never stood a chance here

No real way of knowing unfortunately, given the tactical Bermuda Triangle that the players have disappeared into. We seem to have decided that approximately £3,000,000 worth of attack minded players were never actually good enough. Sticky Plasters abound. I have moved to a state of shrugging shoulders and sighs. Guess that is what Barber and especially Burke are hoping for..

How many of those were meaningful goals that won games or secured a draw as opposed to consultation goals when the game was already lost. Not someone who us going to score 20 for a tactical and technical driven championship team.

Scored more from more games played.

Look at the Championship scoring rate for both players ( you can be kind to COG and only count last season for him ) and a more accurate comparison can be made.

One of the 2 has played and scored a few in the Premier League as well.

Chris O'Grady doesn't have Leo's 1 goal in every 2 Championship games ( almost) strike rate.

So a goal scored when his team are 3-0 down doesn't count?

No matter, our "tactical and technical driven championship team" are doing just fine without him.

I wonder if the Sheffield Utd fans were slating him before he'd even kicked a ball for them, just like some of our fans were when he first signed for us? Our fans deemed him as an inadequate player and turned on him so is it really any surprise he didn't work out, just like the numerous other strikers we have signed which have been treated in the same way before going onto play at a higher level than we were at the time of the abuse (Craig, Davies, Barnes, Vokes, Wood, Murray, etc......)

The very few that fans seem to get behind from the start tend to be the ones that then do very well for us (Ulloa and Zamora only that i can think of) - Coincidence?

Far too many seem to look at things like wikipedia and judge a player on that rather than what they do on the pitch for us (and expect instant results in their first game rather than giving them time to settle)

Maybe we get the strikers who score goals for fun then play them out of position and not to their strengths. Funny how all players are great when they to come us but play like they're conference standered. It couldn't possibly down to the management, oh no, never!, it's the players as they are shit and don't understand our boring, dull system.

Here
I think we thought we were too good a club for him and I suspect he never felt particularly wanted or appreciated here.
