We need to work as hard as we possibly can to finish the season really well."

Brighton & Hove Albion women’s manager James Marrs has been delighted with the side’s progress so far this season.Albion are top of the Premier League Southern Division table, have reached the Sussex Challenge Cup semi-finals and are into the last eight of the Premier League Cup.
They are also set to begin their FA Cup campaign with a match against West Ham United at Culver Road on 11th January.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “Progressive would be the right word to use to describe the season so far. There’s been a lot of change for everybody, so to be sitting where we are and to have gelled together as quickly as we have done is really pleasing.
“I would’ve bitten your hand off if you had offered me 28 points at this stage of this season and we now want to see if we can double that points tally. It’d be nice to have 56 points by the end of the season.
“We’ll see how it goes, but we’re just focussing on how we can progress as a team. Hopefully we can do that and stay up there with the top sides.
“It’s surprising that we’re still in three cup competitions as well and we are really looking forward to our [Premier League Cup] quarter-final against Charlton and the FA Cup game against West Ham. Anything we achieve in the cup competitions is a bonus and we’re looking to do as well as we possibly can.”

LATEST NEWS FROM SEAGULLS.CO.UK

The Albion manager admits that he would rather not have a lull in competitive action over the Christmas break and thoughts have already turned to the Sussex derby at Lewes on 5th January.“We just want to play and I’d love the Christmas period to be a busy for us as it is for the men. Unfortunately we get a little bit of a break from competitive games and the girls will have what time they need to have off, before having a number of training sessions to keep their sharpness up.
“We will hopefully arrange a few friendlies just to keep ourselves going ahead of a huge game away at Lewes.
"Then we’re heading into the business end of the season where the trophies are won and lost. We need to work as hard as we possibly can to finish the season really well.”
