Roger Johnson’s last-minute equaliser rescued a point for 10-man Wolves in a thrilling game at Molineux. Wolves took the lead against the run of play through Bakary Sako in the 22nd minute, before Craig Mackail-Smith levelled for the Seagulls just before the break, latching onto Bruno’s pass to finish into the top corner. Tongo Doumbia restored ten-man Wanderers’ lead on the hour mark following a straight red card for Karl Henry. Will Buckley quickly equalised for the Seagulls before Stephen Dobbie gave Albion the lead for the first time in the match from the penalty spot in the 89th minute. The Seagulls thought they had won it only for Johnson to head home and rescue Wolves a point.Division One

Albion ended a run of 12 consecutive defeats with this a hard-earned point away at Wolves. Bobby Zamora’s 15th minute opener was almost enough to secure a memorable victory until Kenny Miller’s 75th minute strike. The Seagulls took the lead after Zamora produced a superb lofted finish over Matt Murray. The talented forward had a chance to double Albion’s lead just moments later, but was thwarted by Denis Irwin’s last-ditch challenge. The hosts stepped up the pressure on the Albion goal after the break, as Kevin Cooper broke forwards towards the 18-yard line but fired his shot over the crossbar. Michel Kuipers then made a stunning double save to keep out Alex Rae’s low shot before tipping the ball away again from Miller’s effort. But Wanderers’ pressure eventually paid dividends as Miller hit Marc Edworthy’s cross on the volley, taking a deflection off Rae before going into the net.

Albion went into the ninth league meeting with Wolves looking to keep their 100 percent record against Wolves intact. The Seagulls got off to a good start after taking the lead in the sixth minute, when Garry Nelson fired them in front. Nine minutes later Kevin Bremner doubled the lead but Steve Bull pulled one back for Wolves on the half-hour mark. Any sign of a Wolves comeback was put to bed when Bremner scored his second to double Albion’s cushion before Robert Codner put Albion 4-1 up at half time. Andy Mutch gave Wolves hope in the 56th minute but it proved little more than a consolation as Albion went on to win comfortably.
