NORWICH 0ALBION 1
Tilley '16
Brighton and Hove Albion’s under-18s returned to winning ways on Saturday with a 1-0 victory away at Norwich.
The Seagulls were on the front foot from the beginning and almost took a very early lead through defender Ben Barclay, but his header was hacked away by an opponent.
Albion opened the scoring through James Tilley in the 16th minute, after Connor Pring slipped a perfectly-weighted through-ball to George Cox on the left-hand side and his cross found Tilley, who rounded off the move with a simple finish.
Tilley then had an opportunity to double Albion's lead, but sliced a close-range effort over the crossbar.
Albion’s patient build up allowed them large amounts of control in a first half which saw them give Norwich little chance of equalising.

The home side had slightly more of the ball in the second half, but were largely reduced to long-range efforts, as goalkeeper Bailey Vose watched several attempts drift harmlessly wide of his goal.Pring then went close with a long-range effort of his own for Albion, but the attacking midfielder saw his right-footed strike skew wide of the far post.
Tilley had one final chance to net a second goal in the dying moments of the match after a swift counter attack, but Canaries goalkeeper Marcus Beauchamp did well to deny the forward.
ALBION: Vose (GK); Courtney, White, Barclay, Cox (Barnett 70); Hutchinson, Collar, Tighe (Meyers 87); Maguire-Drew, Pring (Mar Larusson 63), Tilley. Subs not used: Hobbs (GK).
