Solly March is in contention for his first away appearance of the season for Albion at Championship leaders Derby County tomorrow.
But captain Gordon Greer has been confirmed as an absentee for the second game running.
March returned as a late substitute in last Saturday's home defeat by Fulham after four months out with a stress fracture of the back.
The versatile young playmaker was pulled out of the under-21s defeat by Arsenal at the Amex on Monday to save him for the game at the iPro Stadium.
Boss Sami Hyypia's attacking options are limited, with Kazenga LuaLua out for several weeks with a knee injury, Adrian Colunga suspended and Joao Teixeira the probable victim once more of the five loan players restriction.
But Hyypia is mindful of not asking too much of March too soon following his long spell on the sidelines.
The Finn said: "He's available. That's why we didn't play him on Monday. We wanted to save him a little bit.
"We need to balance it. He is a good player and I would maybe like him to play 90 minutes but I know as well that it's maybe not good for him and maybe not ideal for any of us that if he plays too much and then gets injured again then he won't be involved for a few weeks after that.
"You need to find a balance and the medical team and physios are working very hard to make sure he will be okay."
Greer is still sidelined by a swollen knee, which ruled him out against Fulham and which has been troubling the Scottish international centre-half for some time.
