Brighton & Hove Albion women’s manager James Marrs wants his side to continue their winning momentum as they prepare to face Cardiff City at Culver Road on Sunday, kick-off 2pm.Albion are top of the Premier League Southern Division table and have won their last six fixtures in all competitions, ahead of the top-two showdown against the Bluebirds.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “I’m really looking forward to the game, especially after how much the players dug in to get a victory against Newcastle last week.
“Winning breeds confidence and there is a lot of confidence in the camp at the moment. The atmosphere is really good and you always tend to get more out of the players in training after a run of good results.
“Everyone in the squad is fighting for places, the players are performing well and the competition is hotting up for those trying to stay in and break into the side.
“We need to make sure that we don’t come crashing down to earth this weekend. We’ve got enough in the locker to be able to compete on Sunday and put in another good performance.”

The Seagulls were originally due to host Plymouth Argyle this Sunday, but due to the Pilgrims’ County Cup commitments, the Cardiff game has been brought forward instead. Marrs says this has not altered his preparations going into the weekend.“We would prepare in exactly the same way for Cardiff as we would for Plymouth. They’re a physical and well-organised side that are always difficult to break down.
“We’ve done our homework and have played them already, so we’re fully aware of what threat they possess and we’ll be working to snuff that out.
“We know they are one of the best sides in this division and that we’ll have to play well to get anything out of the game.”
There is free entry to Sunday's game for all Albion season-ticket holders on production of their card and children under-16, otherwise admission is priced at £3 for adults.
