Are we doing Brighton's best Pub 2014? Or will the Battle of Trafalgar retain the trophy?

Personal favourites:

1. Hell Hunt - Tallinn - a grand place to settle in and while away the hours of darkness, which at this time of year is just about round the clock
2. Crown & Anchor - Preston Park - Few customers, great food, excellent service
3. Can't think of a single other one - other than anywhere spence doesn't drink :p

The Wellington at Shoreham gets better and better.
Not this year - but last year we went to the Clachaig Inn at Glencoe. That is definitely worth a visit.
Norfolk Arms, Steyning. Now in the Good Beer Guide.

Why that response? Over a period of time pubs change , chefs change what are good go down hill and vice versa. An example is The Jolly Tanners Staplefields 8 years ago did brilliant steaks and other food now non existant I believe. When we were in Midhurst the best food around was at The Fox Goes Free.
