Lanes/Laine/Laines....a new mistake?

On The Victiry Inn FB page they are advertising a Brighton ale called "Laines".
Am I right in thinking there are NO Laines!?
North Laine
The Lanes
But no Laines surely?

What are they thinking?

I'd have thought that the Victory Inn were thinking that they have that particular ale in stock otherwise they wouldn't have posted about it on FB obviously but i haven't been there to confirm it myself.

Old town fishermen lower town actually,the 40 acres lost to the sea in the 13th century,every other part of Brighthelmstone is mere imitation,be it layne,laine,lain or lane or for that matter lanes....

A few coastal raids by the French and a couple of storms could not dampen our spirit...

We are the lower town...

Laine is old English for lease/loan, in this case farmland. Presumably North Laine is a term for that particular area and Laines is not an incorrect term?

Have they worked out how to look after their ale yet? Have had four or five attempts in there over the years and they've all been lumpy and rotten (yet still served up).
