Well, had the police concentrated on finding the real perpetrators rather than fabricating evidence, then we'd maybe have found those involved.

Indeed. Which is to their eternal discredit (frightening how little has changed/been learned) but of no comfort to family and friends of those who were lost. There is a great deal of pain here still.

Anyone have any ideas what sort of sentences these terrorist types are likely to get?
18 month community order with 120 hours unpaid work (suspended for 2 years) and £15 costs probably.

Actually the death penalty for treason stopped in 1998...Would we seriously have gone through with it then though?
I'd expect at least 20 years for these crimes although hanging them would be far cheaper

Maybe not shown on Al Jezeera,but like they use the heads put on the spikes by the gates at the Tower of London.

dont be silly. They have the evidence, but papers cant say "they would have" until proven in court. Rarely do our security forces get it wrong. Best in the world at what they do.

Why would you want to change the mindset of those thinking its worthy to behead an innocent person in the streets of the UK ?
When it gets to this level of barbarity we really needn't care what those that support such actions think.
You might want to consider the consequences of certain actions that our security services might employ within certain faith communities, but not in these cases, here you just need to discuss what might be seen as appropriate punishment.
