Hi, I have been asked to promote the WW2 Bunker at Uxbridge, on this site as its real piece of history thats free to visit.

Also for you history buffs there is Hughenden Manor, near High Wycombe which holds a vast history of info on its usage during WW2.

Enjoy :thumbsup::thumbsup:

As a serviceman myself I've been here on a number of occasions and its a great piece of history. Fantastic to see the Operations Room used during the Battle of Britain.

As for Hughenden manor I grew up only two miles away from there yet shamefully don't know anything about it. I shall swat up now

Ooo, I might have to pay a visit. I've long had an interest in underground structures, ever since I had to go in the BT bunker under Churchill Square about 30 years ago (no idea if it's still there).
I've been to Churchill's war rooms, Anstruther Nuclear Bunker, Lascaris in Malta, as well as quite a few others. At the moment I'm working in an exchange in London that has an entrance to the Deep Level systems and hoping to get a look down there (unlikely but I'll keep pestering the bloke).
