Brighton & Hove Albion’s Glen Rea followed up his Republic of Ireland under-21 debut against the USA at the weekend by finding the back of the net during his country's 2-2 draw with Russia. The Seagulls defender was on target after just five minutes to give the Irish the lead when he tucked home a rebound after his initial effort was saved.
Russia were then reduced to ten men midway through the first half and Ireland went two goals to the good just after the break - however the depleted side fought back to claim a draw.
After the game Rea once again drew praise from coach Noel King saying, “We did well. We made six changes and the players who came in did well.
“Dylan Connolly did great, Glen Rea scored on his second cap and there were lots of good performances.”
