Am staying Friday to Sunday so hope there are a few decent pubs and restaurants. Any suggestions welcomed.

Haven't been there for 25 years. I'm looking forward to a wander around the Cathedral.

The seaside.
Best football awayday in the UK is Naarich. Castle and cathedral for them that likes history, millions of shops (eg four specialist board games shops compared to the two shelves in a comic shop that Brighton & Hove has), hire a boat from by the station and potter a couple of miles up the Yar for some decent riverside country pubs (eg the Ferry), etc. As far as pubs in the city itself goes, most of the famed ale pubs are a bit of a hike out of town (Fat Cat etc around Dereham Road 1.5 miles West of the Centre; King's Head etc across the river a mile or so North of the Centre). There are no shit pubs in Norwich though, apart from the West Street style strip of bars for morons on Prince Of Wales Road. For immediately pre- and/or post-match I recommend the Coach & Horses on Thorpe Road (just North of the railway line); it's home to the Chalk Hill Brewery, pints are cheap (including strong 6% abv stuff) and it's less than 10 mins walk from the away turnstiles...
