Ali Al-Habsi is facing a further blow to his hopes of game time with Albion.
International duty with Oman could rule the on-loan Wigan goalkeeper out of the Seagulls' next away game at Norwich on November 22.
Al-Habsi is skippering Oman in the Gulf Cup in Saudi Arabia. They play three group matches between November 14 and 20, with the semi-finals scheduled for the 23rd, third place play-off on the 25th and final on the 26th.
Al-Habsi was barred from playing against parent club Wigan at the Amex on Tuesday after his debut at Bournemouth last Saturday in place of broken finger victim David Stockdale.
With five loan players allowed in the matchday squad and six on the books, boss Sami Hyypia has to decide whether to recall Al-Habsi against Blackburn Rovers at the Amex today or stick with England under-20s keeper Christian Walton.
Al-Habsi’s month on loan ends with the home game against Fulham on November 29.
Albion were leapfrogged in the table by Bolton, who beat Wigan 3-1, last night.
But the Seagulls in turn edged past Wigan on goal difference and are still in 20th place.
