Tomorrow sees the start of a 4 day strike by train drivers whose union is seeking a 5% pay rise and a two hour reduction in the working week. Apart from inconvenience to commuters it will also affect passengers traveling to Berlin to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Deutsche Bahn say they will only be able to provide a very reduced timetable as contingency plans mean only 1 in 3 trains will run.

so their infamous rail network will not be operating to ferry them to celebrate the dismantling of a wall erected during their occupation by a country to whom they laid waste mercilessly. shame eh.

One day strikes don't cause as much hassle because the rail operator has contingency plans to minimise the disruption. The 4 days continuous strike action is the longest in Deutsche Bahn's history. 50% of German rail freight wont be going anywhere until Monday morning at the earliest.

They have rail freight in Germany? You'll be claiming next that they have manufacturing.

What kind of backward country is this? So last century by our standards.
