Albion are waiting on the results of a scan today on the ankle injury suffered by Aaron Hughes before deciding their next loan move.
Hughes has been included in the Northern Ireland squad for their Euro 2016 qualifier in Romania on November 14.
Manchester United's Paddy McNair has also been named in the senior squad for the first time as potential cover for Hughes, who was stretchered off in the early stages of Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Bournemouth.
Hughes' injury has complicated the centre-half situation for manager Sami Hyypia and his loan options.
Gordon Greer and Lewis Dunk, the Seagulls' only recognised central defenders, both go into tonight's home game against Wigan a booking away from a ban.
Albion already have five loan players, the maximum number allowed in the matchday squad. Hyypia wants to sign a striker, as well as probably needing cover for third choice centre-half Hughes.
Hughes' Albion team-mate Paddy McCourt has retained his place in the Northern Ireland squad. He featured as a sub in their home victory over the Faroe Islands but played no part in the win in Greece which has left Northern Ireland on top of their group going into the clash against nearest pursuers Romania.
Greer, meanwhile, is a routine inclusion in the Scotland squad for their qualifier against the Republic of Ireland and friendly against England.
