Sami Hyypia says that his Brighton & Hove Albion squad should take confidence from Saturday’s display against Bournemouth and that his players should forget about their current position when they face Wigan Athletic at the Amex tonight.
*

The Albion manager was pleased with the football that his side played at the Goldsands Stadium, despite a 3-2 defeat and wants his players to focus on replicating a similar performance against the Latics, rather than whether they are in a relegation battle or not.
*
He told seagulls.co.uk, “We watched the game again and saw many examples of us playing good football. A key positive from the game was that we got into the areas that we needed to and scored two good goals with opportunities to score more.
*
“The players also showed the effort we need and were willing to do everything to win the game, but we need to do that in every match.
*
“We’ve spoken before about whether it’s too early or late to say we’re in a relegation battle, but all we need to focus on is being positive and concentrated in our games, then we will start to pick up wins.
*
“That’s the only thing on my mind at the moment. I don’t think of our position in the table, as it’s important that you concentrate 100% in the next game, whether you are in the top or the bottom six.
*
“In terms of pressure, you might read the papers, watch the TV or look at the internet and then you can maybe form different opinions, but then you put more pressure on yourself.”

Hyypia says that he is unsure what kind of test Wigan will provide on Tuesday, but insists the focus is on his making sure his own side are effective at both ends of the pitch.
*
“It’s a similar kind of challenge in every game we play. I don’t know if Wigan will come here to press us with a high tempo, which we’ve seen a few times this season or whether they will try to defend and hit us on the break.
*
“We need to prepare everything for tomorrow night. They’re definitely a team that works very hard and tries to keep the tempo high all through the match.
*
“We need to match that, focus on the defensive side of our game and be very precise and clinical in the offensive side. If we do that, then we’ll keep a clean sheet and score a few goals to get us that win which we have been waiting for.”[h=3]ALBION V WIGAN
