Brighton & Hove Albion and Albion in the Community have been awarded a Healthy Stadia Award Plaque by the European Healthy Stadia Network for their contribution to the improvement of public health.
*
The European Healthy Stadia network operates across 13 European counties and has over 300 members that come from a variety of organisations, including sports clubs and governing bodies of sport.
*
Albion and AITC entered the application process this year and panel members from the European Healthy Stadia network were impressed by both the stadium policies and community health projects ran by the club and the charity.
*
AITC’s ‘Make a Change’ programme was one of the standout projects submitted in the application which is delivered to the 15 schools nearest to the Amex stadium. This has engaged 12,000 5-11 year olds in the last five years.
