Joe Bennett reckons Albion can benefit from their trip to Tottenham - even if they do not go through.
The Seagulls are at White Hart Lane tonight in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.
They are underdogs to reach the quarter-finals but Bennett reckons, even if the form book is followed, they can boost confidence for their league campaign.
The on-loan left-back told The Argus: "Spurs*are obviously a good team but for our confidence I think we need to put a good performance in.
"I'm not too sure how much the result means.
"Our main focus is to get pushed up in the league but obviously it would be nice to get a win at Tottenham and it would be nice for the fans to go on a cup run."
