Managers will always be the fool guys to some extent when a team isn't performing but after reading Naylors recent piece focusing on player recruitment its left me confused. Clearly Bloom wants a strong back ground team; supporting a manager, adding continuety and experiance outside of the ups and down of any given mangers fortunes.
So i don't really understand the opposition by some regarding Burke; surely his team work on stats regarding players and wait for the greenlights by whoever the current manager maybe (if there is one). Burke's remit i would imagine is to get the best players that fit within our budget and create a balanced squad; the rest surely can't be his look out without imput from the manager!?
