Yea I know and agree but how is a Goverment goig to abuse your DNA?

Think of all the deadbeat dads you could catch? and females who try to mug off some bloke with another mans kid?

Catching crims, finding lost relatives. whats the downside?

It's only a short matter of time before we start identifying genes for sociopathy etc, we can then easily identify who has it and sterilise them.

UKIP when they win an election in 20 or so years time could use it to deport people with foreign genomes! Will ease the pressure on our services come the next crash.

What made me start this thread is that on the radio today a woman was murdered earlier this year and the police have found some DNA on her. Surely we need to solve cases like this.

When the police know who has done a crime but can't prove it, or in fact if needed for a cover up (think of the guy who 'suicided' then stuffed himself into a holdall) they could plant some genetic evidence. People can't argue against a 'foolproof' system.

I'd suggest the vast majority of folk against such an idea are generally the perpetrators of crime ....

Easy to capture with every birth registration - need a birth certificate for passport / DL / etc later in life - MUST have donated DNA to the world wide DNA register.

If ever there was a deterrent - only the very stupid will get caught ....

and of course the innocent who happened to have left DNA somewhere in or around a crime scene.

Of course the level of freedom we do or don't have is up for debate but it's not exactly like we live in North Korea. At least "they" let us have the illusion of freedom :thumbsup:
