Certainly wouldn't have the planning permission approved and the way paved for the big money to swan on in. Total respect to the guys that did the hard graft.
What's the point of a tedious thread like this?
I hadn't seen that, but it's possibly a more interesting question as DK would have failed had Bloom not stepped in.Counterpoint to the 'Where would we be without bloom' thread. Obviously.
Just a platform for the old guard to have a licking session. Knight and Perry are great and all but so's Bloom. Such a boring argument. Both saved the football club end of discussion.
Well, he'd have failed to reach his end goal of a new stadium as the financial crisis would have ruined us.Why's that then?
We'd be following Brighton United, or perhaps AFC Brighton - we'd probably be in league two by now, desperately trying to move from The Enclosed Ground to finally build a league standard stadium in Brighton - which would turn out to be a 10,000 stadium on Sheepcote Valley with a supermarket.

Without Archer there would have been no Dick Knight...it's a pointless argument. There's a reason they were all out on the pitch before the Spurs friendly....They all need each other. End of storyWithout Knight and Perry devoting YEARS of their lives to wading through all that planning bullshit and finally winning planning permission, there would never have been any prospect of a new stadium. Somebody/anybody with money would have come in at the point where the planning permission was granted. That was the easy bit. American Express in particular deserve no credit whatsoever. They'd have happily stood by and seen the club go under if planning permission was not forthcoming.
