Brighton & Hove Albion take on Rotherham United on Saturday in what will be the 46th meeting between the sides.
The Seagulls have a slight edge in the overall head-to-head record, with 16 victories to 15 for Rotherham, while the two teams have been inseparable on 14 occasions.
The most recent meeting took place more than seven years ago back in League One on 3rd February 2007, as the Seagulls played out a stalemate with the Millers at Withdean.*

Dan Harding’s only Brighton & Hove Albion goal gave Mark McGhee’s side victory over the South Yorkshire side at Withdean.The Seagulls created a number of chances throughout the game, as Millers keeper Mike Pollitt had to be alert to smother an effort from Steve Claridge, before parrying away a long-range effort from Darren Currie. Leon Knight then flashed an effort wide of the near post following a long range pass from Paul Reid. But the breakthrough eventually came through Harding, after he latched onto Currie’s free kick at the far post and fired a low effort past Pollitt to claim the three points.8th March 2003

Brighton 2-0 Rotherham

Albion secured their third win in a row to move out of the relegation zone with victory over the Millers.The Seagulls took the lead in the 56th minute when Tony Rougier, on loan from Reading, had an effort saved by keeper Mike Pollit but the deflection rebounded off Paul Hurst and into the net for an own goal.Bobby Zamora then scored his fourth goal in six games with a close-range finish at the far post to make the result safe.

Albion secured an emphatic victory over the Millers at the Priestfield, with all five goals coming in an action-packed second half.Richard Barker scored a quickfire brace for the Seagulls with two goals in the space of three minutes just after half time, before Lee Glover brought Rotherham back into the game 13 minutes from the end. But two goals in the final five minutes of normal time courtesy of Gary Hart and Jeff Minton added extra gloss to the victory.
