If we beat Rotherham this will have been a successful October by our standards.

18th October 2005 was the last time we won a Championship game in October.
Palace 0 Brighton 1
To be fair, at the time, a lot of us would have traded a win that night for no October Championship wins for nine years.
Did one of you swear a deal with devil on the way to that game?

I blame it on RL Johnson.

Cardiff was 30th September. If it had been October we would have lost 1-0.

Another small comfort is that, although we can't seem to score any goals at the moment, should we score on Saturday we will have scored 4 in 10/2014, our best goal return for any October since the Amex opened.

So three points from October then.
The same as 13/14 & 12/13 & 11/12.

The team looked shot for confidence after conceding yesterday and, despite all the renting of clothes and gnashing of teeth on here, the confidence could easily return with one significant result. Scrape a lucky win against a team like Spurs, or a 1-0 against a team that just scored 8 and the belief will come. If the belief was there yesterday, we would have come back from the equaliser and won, rather than letting the heads drop and not wanting to take responsibility.

On a brighter note November is generally a good month for us. We have won nine, drawn four and lost only two in November over the last three years.
However, as Karl Popper pointed out, in his critique of historical determinism, just because 99 white swans have swum past, doesn't mean the next one won't be black.

In other words, this stuff is entirely meaningless and a waste of your time.

A bit like Crossroads.

Although there may be some moving scenery to come....
