A five-a-side team comprised of legendary Brighton & Hove Albion and Huddersfield players over the years.Bill Crinson (Goalkeeper)
This tall keeper featured for Huddersfield Town in their first season in existence back in 1908/09, with the Yorkshire club playing in the North Eastern League. After one season, the Durham-born shot-stopper made his way to Brighton. In his first season, Albion triumphed in the Southern League but the ever-present Bob ‘Pom Pom’ Whiting denied Crinson any playing time. It took until the tail end of the following 1910/11 campaign for Crinson to make his Albion debut, keeping a clean sheet against Swindon at Craven Cottage in the semi-final of the Southern Charity Cup. Crinson made just 13 Albion appearances before returning to the North Eastern League with Sunderland Rovers in 1913. By then, his old club, Huddersfield, had already been admitted into the Football League.
Chris Cattlin (Defender)
Cattlin signed as a professional with Huddersfield in August 1964. Such was his progress that he became a regular in the Second Division halfway through the season. By March 1968, high-flying Coventry City came knocking at the door and ‘the Cat’ transferred to the Midlands side for £80,000 - then a record fee for a full-back. After 217 First Division appearances, he joined Albion in June 1976 as Peter Taylor’s last signing. While with the Seagulls, he added solidity to the young defence, especially in the 1978/79 season, when his re-introduction to the first team coincided with the form that took Albion to the top flight.

Kieran O’Regan (Midfielder)
At the age of 19, this Irish full-back and midfielder almost made his Albion debut in the FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield Wednesday in April 1983. In the end he didn’t come on as a substitute, but he did make his first appearance in the Albion’s last-ever match in the top flight, away at Carrow Road against Norwich City a month later. In a matchday programme, O’Regan talked of his love for the game: “Football is my hobby, but I get paid for playing and I’m starting to see the world now too. Life is all about enjoying what you do and there’s nothing I’d rather do than play football.” He left Brighton in 1987 for Swindon before signing for Huddersfield after a season. He made 199 appearances for the Terriers.Frank Worthington (Striker)
This maverick striker was signed for Brighton by his former Huddersfield colleague Chris Cattlin in 1984 and very nearly helped the Seagulls back into the First Division. As captain Jimmy Case told Shoot! Magazine: “Frank has style. He’s played his skillful, thoughtful game at the very top for England and graced the best grounds in the land with a mixture of cheek, charm and carefree flair. With a man of his calibre in the side we can vary our game more than most opponents. Frank makes as many goals as he scores and he’s the ace in our pack as well as the joker.”
Pat Saward (Manager)
Sensationally, Huddersfield once lost 7-6 to Charlton in a league match, after being 5-1 up with 28 minutes to go. The result was in December 1957. Although Saward joined Town much later in 1961, the match was subsequently cited by him when he became a manager to demonstrate why teams should never give up or get complacent. 1972/73 was an opportune time to use that match as an inspiring example. Brighton were having a terrible time in the Second Division, losing 12 league games in a row, but he still urged Albion to keep going to try to turn their fortunes around. Still, at least Saward was able to beat his former side home and away. Unfortunately, both Brighton and Huddersfield went down that season.
