I have just opened my laptop and it came up with a critical message to contact Norton which I did and they said it has a trojan on it which is not a virus so want £169 to remove it for me, Any sensible advice would be welcome.

It came up on the symantec showing to contact their support no. I had trouble understanding the chap as he was of Indian origin and spoke very poor English

Download and run Malwarebytes.
This with bells on. I downloaded this last year after having problems and it was the only program to clear Trojans and other nasties including some malicious toolbar. It removed everything that virus software couldn't. Don't take much looking to get a key code for the full version either.

This must be a joke ...

But who has the time to post 40,000 times on a parody account?

It's a tough one.

I'll do it for £100

Peel them off gently so that nothing is spilt on the keyboard. No one likes sticky keys...
