With the offshore oil/gas platform installation technology that we have, our lack of apparent building space available on terra-firma and the sheer beauty of our seaside piers.
Why oh why oh why haven't we rebuilt a brand new West Pier stretching a mile out to sea with accommodation and retail/leisure facilities.

That is all

Although it will always be known as 'Palace Pier' to true Brightonians, 'Forever Palace' sticks in the throat!

Good piece by the way, it won't quite be the same when the wheel is removed for the i360.

Indeed, yes. Although it's splintered wooden elements, with its rusty railings, do encourage comparisons with our Palace friends very own relic of history.
