Or in your case, replace the word speak with attempt to type.

The manner in which the last two managers left still rankles, and so 'jokes' like this don't go down too well with me. Especially as it's a poorly executed shit joke anyway.

I haven't had one "put over" on me for a second. Hence why I think it was a shit joke poorly executed. It was the moment in which it was delivered that pissed me off. Is that ok with you?
