Albion striker Chris O’Grady has yet to become a target during the loan transfer window.
But some of his colleagues have as manager Sami Hyypia ponders whether to hand O’Grady his first home start in the Championship since the opening day of the season against Middlesbrough at the Amex tomorrow.
Hyypia revealed to The Argus earlier this month that O’Grady, although not for sale, could be a candidate for a loan move.
The Finn said: “Nobody has called me (about O’Grady). Of course, lately there have been some enquiries about a few of our players but when somebody is going on loan we'll tell you.”
O'Grady's former club Barnsley, managed by ex-Seagull Danny Wilson, are watching his situation.
Wilson, speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, said: “We didn't want Chris to go in the first place so if he was available then we would ask the question. But as far as I know he is still a Brighton player and will remain there.
“We wouldn't be the only club asking about him if he were available.” O'Grady made his first league start since mid-August in Albion's last match at Watford.
Hyypia's attacking options for Boro's visit are strengthened by Sam Baldock's recovery from calf trouble.
