Shameful half page ad in the Times today (anyone lift?) shows a couple of pretty male models @ Selhurst, complete with fake scarfs, a virtually empty Arthur Waite and an uncanny Croydon's Burning supporting headline 'Let's light up our cities.....with a cleaner source of energy'..

So there is an advert for Shell using Selhurst as a backdrop?. I really dont see any issue with this, am sure if Shell had come to the Amex, Paul Barber would have welcomed the revenue with open arms

Shell - we've made huge profits from polluting the planet - now we're gonna bang on about cleaner energy like we give a **** - we're already rich - when the planet goes to shit it won't be us suffering. Sort of thing.

Also not cleaner, not clean. So basically "We're still polluting, just less now! Aren't we wonderful?"

Shell have actually been loading their energy mix much more towards gas and away from oil. That said, there's a squeeze on gas prices at the moment so they'll start to see profits under pressure.

Unfortunately, unless we change our behaviour we are going to need fossil fuels for a mighty long time, so investing in technologies that can produce clean energy using these sources is the best option. The bad news is that there ain't enough wind, solar or wave around to satisfy our greedy needs. We like to blame the dirty oil companies because we can't be bothered to modify our own behaviour. Human nature isn't it.

Nevertheless, I shall be boycotting Shell for this shameful advert. Croydon!

That's priceless. Lets light up our cities with a cleaner source of energy! Brilliant. How about a few furniture stores and JD sports.

I'm boycotting shell now.

What do you mean "male models"?

They are LIFELONG Palace fans who've been attending their games home and away for years, exactly the same as the other 24,000 who go each week now. There are no Plastic Fans at Selhurst, as we all know very well.
