Strachan was particularly effusive in his praise for his defence, especially Brighton's Gordon Greer, who replaced the injured Grant Hanley.

He slotted into the defence exceptionally well beside Russell Martin and formed a very good partnership with the Norwich man. Looked solid throughout.

Gordon Greer, being the big strapping lad that he is, immediately makes me think of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" in musical terms. I'm sure someone a lot cleverer than moi can download a version and/or the lyrics.
