In light of the media coverage of the Ebola virus I was thinking about one of the last great health virus outbreaks covered by the media in a similar way.
What has happened to this virus, its impact and public awareness of this "threat".

UAE banned imports of live birds from Russia last week. Seems avian flu is making the rounds below the radar.
