Firstly, I have to admit that I have not read this book - I am commenting on the many, many quotes lifted from different publications, including a piece by Roddy Doyle (the book's ghost writer) in the Independent.

Am I the only one who has long ago come to the conclusion that Mr Keane displays sociopathic and/or psychopathic traits? I have to concede that he could be an effective captain at times, but I long ago argued (with a contingent of the Brighton Reds) that at the time of Juan Sebastián Verón's encumbancy at the Man Ure, he should have been instructed 'get the ball and pass it to Juan' just as Alf Ramsey did with Nobby Stiles and Bobby Charlton.

He was good as an attack dog, but as the defining fulcrum of a supposedly great club......not for me.

Medical specialists opinions especially welcome on this post.

Never mind that Roy (thinks he's more important than he is) - a far more interesting 'Roy' autobiography has just appeared in my local Waterstone's - Roy Race!
