Possibly, although the fans haven't forgotten. That's what matters right?

Well, seeing how the (it's not a) 'legends wall' is hugely over represented with players from Hart's era, he's clearly wrong to feel that his omission is for the reasons he'd like to think.

Is he not included in the glass mural in Dick's anyway?

I presume that as a mate of Kerry Mayo, he's been regaled at length with one side of the story about why Mayo was let go from his lounge host role. This might colour Gary's judgement on all things new Albion.

Despite what some people think about the club and their attitude to fans and former staff (players/coaches etc.), I've always found them to be helpful and accommodating. I agree, Gary Hart is, and will always be, an Albion legend. Perhaps, as one poster has suggested, a little nudge in the direction of Paul Barber might lead the club to officially recognise OGH in some form - maybe on the legends wall or an appearance at half-time.

Honestly, I can't decide whether I see this as sour grapes or not.
There's no denying, for me, that he should be considered a legend by all Albion fans, which already seems to be the case anyway. He must be aware of this surely? If so, why would it matter whether he's got a picture up somewhere, he's not going to be forgotten for a long while.

I do wonder if maybe fans/players have a different view of what the wall, and someone's inclusion, represents when compared to the club.

He was asked a question and gave an honest answer ... it's not as if he's exploding with vitriol, is it?

Gary Hart was a great pro who made the most of his talents and off the field he seemed like a good bloke too. Does he deserve a flag behind the West Stand for that? For example, do we remember his performances with more awe than those of Vicente?

I used to really like Ian Culverhouse. The least the club can do is name a burger after him. Etc etc etc.

A bit tabloid this.

Someone has asked him a direct question which he gave an honest answer to, he hasn't just come out and said it.

It's not bitterness or sour grapes, it's just a fact that things have changed since he left and he's not on the inside anymore. Probably happens to a lot of footballers.

Agree 100%, I mean, it's obvious isn't it? Surely anyone can see that it's the case.

He obviously should be on the wall, but my over-riding emotion from his Twitter feed is horror at his spelling & grammar

Club legend though

He was a forklift truck driver before he joined us at 21 and then spent the next decade as a footballer, what do you expect? He's not had the education you've had, and frankly doesn't need it anymore. There's better things to judge people on, everyone I know that met Harty during his time here said he was a top bloke.

There always seems to be a lot of pant-pissing about who should and shouldn't be on the "legends" wall.
I really couldn't give a flying f*ck.
