We lacked quality across the board"
Fliss Gibbons

Brighton & Hove Albion women’s forward Fliss Gibbons says the side were outfought during their 4-1 defeat to Charlton Athletic yesterday.
*
Gibbons netted Albion’s only goal of the game with a well-taken finish, but admits it provides little consolation after a disappointing team performance.
*
She told seagulls.co.uk, “To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. We didn’t really want it enough or show enough fight, and I know we have it because we showed it on Thursday night [against Gillingham].
*
“You could tell they [Charlton] wanted to win and we didn’t really match them physically. What was also disappointing is that all of their goals came from our mistakes.
*
“We lacked quality across the board. It was just a bad day at the office but we’ve just got to reflect on it and move on to the next game; hopefully we’ll see a better performance.” [h=2]LATEST NEWS FROM SEAGULLS.CO.UK[/h]

The Albion striker believes it is up to the whole squad to react positively going into the next match, as the team take on Derby County in the second round of the Premier League Cup next Sunday.
*
“Every week the focus is only on putting in a good performance. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in the league or cup; there’s no difference to us.
*
“James [Marrs, women's manager] always reiterates how he wants us to perform in every game and to get our targets out. So it’s just a case of getting a reaction out on Sunday, get ourselves going again and get a good result.
*
“But more importantly, we want to come out and perform the way we know we can.” [h=2]UPCOMING HOME FIXTURES[/h] [h=3]ALBION V MIDDLESBROUGH
